LCGA LAGAN Powered by Si3:

28th - 30th March 2008, Lahore

Si3 was the exclusive sponsor to the country’s largest e-Sporting event of the year which was hosted by Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). The event is called ‘LAGAN’ (LUMS Annual Gaming Arcane Nationals). For the first time in the history of Pakistan’s e-Sporting all the top teams from all regions of Pakistan were engaged in a head to head combat. Whether they were CS players or the best in Warcraft Dota, all were put to the test.

LAGAN 2008 was a three day event, from March 28 to March 30, 2008. Si3 being the exclusive sponsor was present at the venue for all three days and had good interaction with the student body. “LAGAN powered by Si3” is the first ever sponsorship of a LUMS event on such a large scale by a blue chip IT Services company.

For the 72 hours that the contest lasted, the LUMS campus was the center of excitement and fervor - dominated by e-Sporting enthusiasts from around the country. The campus was brought alive with banners and gaming figures put up for the event - over poles and pillars, even the campus buildings. The publicity and marketing team, through the Si3 sponsorship, had transformed the labs into a gaming heaven for the 150 university students that had travelled from various cities to participate in LAGAN.

LAGAN was just not to fill colour in the lives of the LUMinites but the mission was to enchant the minds of the entire nation. Speaking at the awards ceremony, Amer Hashmi, President & CEO Si3, gave an eye-opening presentation to the audience, sharing with them where the global IT industry is headed, what the fastest growing segments are and how today’s generation can capitalize on the offering and work for the establishment of IT industry in the Pakistani market. This proved to be a truly patriotic and uplifting moment!
