The Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organization (ASOCIO) opted to hold their plenary meeting in Karachi June 26 - June 27, 2006. This is a great privilege for Pakistan as ASOCIO collectively represents 10000 companies and US$200 billion in revenue.
The delegation comprised of around 25 senior people from the 27 economies that ASOCIO represents which includes Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, India, Bangladesh, Korea, etc.
ASOCIO is a group of computing industry associations from the Asian-Oceania region. Established in 1984, it aims to promote, encourage and foster relationships and trade between its members, and to develop the computing industry in the region.
The delegation, led by Wilson Tan, President ASOCIO, was hosted by Si3 at a luncheon event for them at the Karachi Boat Club. This gave Si3 the opportunity to exchange views and build relationships with regional associations, sharing our vision for the region, and Si3’s role as a leader in this effort. The delegation was given a brief introduction to Si3’s capabilities, services and experience. Working towards a Si3’s global model for delivery, these relationships are key for success in ASEAN markets.
